The router is the heart of a home or office network. Video calls, streaming, gaming, work documents and security cameras all pass through it. Yet most routers run on factory settings, or however the provider's installer hurriedly left them. As a result, people put up with dropouts, slow Wi-Fi and dead zones for years, when the problem can be solved with proper configuration.
Why proper router setup matters
Factory settings are designed for an "average" flat and don't take your conditions into account. In Tbilisi's apartment blocks, dozens of neighbours' networks share the airwaves; if your router has picked a congested channel, Wi-Fi speed can drop several times over. The wrong channel width, an outdated encryption mode or a disabled 5 GHz band cost you a big share of the speed you pay your provider for.
The other side is security. A default admin password, WPS left on and old firmware let outsiders join your network, use your internet and, at worst, intercept traffic and reach your cameras and computers. A properly configured router closes those holes. We also make sure the settings are documented, so you or we can quickly restore them after a reset or a provider change.
When you need router setup

How we set up your router
- Analysis. We check your plan and connection type, measure speed over cable and Wi-Fi in different rooms and scan the airwaves for channel congestion.
- Provider connection. We configure PPPoE, dynamic or static IP, IPTV and VLANs for Magti, Silknet and other operators.
- Wi-Fi optimisation. We choose clear channels, the best width and transmit power, and set up the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands with band steering.
- Security. We change the admin password, enable WPA2/WPA3, switch off WPS and remote management and update the firmware.
- Extra features. Guest network, parental controls, priority for video calls and gaming, and port forwarding for cameras and servers.
- Verification. We measure speed throughout the home again and show you the result.
In a large home or one with thick walls, a single router may not be enough. We'll choose and set up a mesh system or access points so Wi-Fi works equally well in every room.
