The processor is the computer's brain. It decides how quickly programs open, how many frames your games deliver, how long a video takes to render and how smoothly you can multitask. When your computer no longer keeps up, you don't always need a new one. The motherboard often supports far more powerful processors than the one currently installed, and an upgrade costs a fraction of a new system.
Why CPU replacement is best left to a technician
Choosing a processor comes with many conditions. The socket must match, the chipset and BIOS version must support the exact model, the motherboard's power delivery must be strong enough and the cooler must be suitable. Sometimes a new CPU physically fits the socket but the board won't start until its firmware is updated — and that update can only be done with the old processor still installed. On budget boards, weak power circuitry overheats under a powerful chip and throttles performance.
Installation itself also demands care. The pins in an LGA socket, or on older-style processors, are extremely fragile: bend a single one and the board or CPU needs an expensive repair. Uneven cooler pressure leads to overheating. We carry out the replacement by the book and verify the result under load.
When a CPU upgrade is worth considering

- video exports, compression and project builds take too long;
- the computer slows down with many browser tabs and programs open;
- new software or Windows 11 requires a more modern processor;

How an upgrade works
- System analysis. We identify the motherboard model, revision, BIOS version, power supply capacity and current cooler.
- Options. We suggest compatible processors with estimated performance gains and costs — no paying extra for improvements you won't notice.
- BIOS update. If required, we update the board's firmware before fitting the new CPU.
- Installation. We swap the processor carefully, apply quality thermal paste and fit a stronger cooler if needed.
- Configuration. We reset and optimise BIOS settings, enable the memory profile and check that Windows recognises the new chip correctly.
- Stress test. We monitor temperatures, clocks and stability under sustained load.
