The quality of your home internet depends half on your provider and half on which router you have and where it sits. A powerful router hidden in a cupboard by the front door will perform worse than a basic one placed in the middle of the flat. We handle the whole process, from choosing a model to the moment the last TV and smartphone are connected to the network.
Why location and model matter so much
Wi-Fi is radio, and radio weakens as it passes through walls. The signal is hit especially hard by the reinforced concrete load-bearing walls typical of Soviet-era buildings in Tbilisi, as well as mirrors, aquariums and metal doors. A router placed in a corner wastes half its power on the street and the neighbours. Many people also put it on the floor, behind the TV or next to the microwave, which uses the same 2.4 GHz frequency.
The model matters too. For a flat up to 60 m² on a 100 Mbps plan, an inexpensive dual-band router is fine. For 100 m² or more, a house, or a plan of 500 Mbps and above, you need a router with Wi-Fi 6, gigabit ports and possibly mesh units. There's often no need to overpay for an eight-antenna "gaming" router — but saving money on one that's too weak leads to constant complaints about the internet.
When to book an installation
- you've moved or renovated and need to set up internet from scratch;
- your provider's router is outdated and can't handle your plan;
- you want to move the router to a better spot and hide the cables;
- you need Wi-Fi across a large house, a yard or several floors;
- you're opening an office, café or shop and need a network for staff and guests.
How installation works
- Survey. We look at the space, where the provider's cable enters, and the layout of rooms and devices.
- Choosing equipment. We suggest 2–3 models for your space, plan and budget, and can buy one for you.
- Choosing the location. We find the point with the best coverage and, if needed, run a cable from the entry point.
- Mounting. We fix the router to a wall or shelf, route cables neatly in trunking and connect it to a socket or UPS.
- Configuration. Provider connection, Wi-Fi optimisation, network security and guest access.
- Connecting devices. TVs, set-top boxes, printers, cameras, smart devices, computers and phones.
- Measurements. We test the speed in every room and show you the result.
If the provider's cable comes in at an awkward spot, we'll move the connection point neatly — no chasing into walls, using trunking that matches your interior. If the flat has a low-voltage cabinet, we can place the router and switch inside it, out of sight, with access points distributing the signal to the rooms.
