A driver is a small translator program between Windows and a specific device: the graphics card, sound card, Wi-Fi adapter or printer. Without it, the hardware either doesn't work at all or runs in a limited mode. A wrong or outdated driver is a common cause of blue screens, missing sound, dropped internet connections and poor gaming performance.
Why driver problems happen
After Windows is installed, the system picks drivers automatically, but not always well. For graphics cards it often installs a basic version without proper gaming support or hardware video acceleration. On laptops it misses the manufacturer's drivers for power management, the touchpad and function keys. Windows updates sometimes replace a working driver with a newer one that doesn't suit your model.
Another danger comes from driver "updater" tools and download aggregator sites. Many bundle adware, install unsuitable versions or even drivers meant for other devices, which leads to crashes. We install drivers only from the hardware manufacturers' official websites and check the result.
When you need help
- after installing or reinstalling Windows there's no sound, Wi-Fi or webcam;
- Device Manager shows unknown devices with a yellow warning sign;
- games run at low frame rates despite a powerful graphics card;
- a laptop's brightness, touchpad or function keys don't work;
- a printer, scanner or multifunction device isn't detected;
- blue screens mentioning .sys files;
- the internet keeps dropping for no obvious reason.
How we work
- Inventory. We identify the exact model of every component, including the chipset, controllers and peripherals.
- Restore point. We create one so the system can be rolled back if needed.
- Official downloads. From Intel, AMD, NVIDIA and Realtek — and for laptops, from the manufacturer's page for your exact model.
- Correct installation order. Chipset first, then graphics, audio, network and peripherals — important for stability.
- Clean graphics driver installation, removing remnants of old versions if there were crashes.
- Testing. We check every device: sound, network, camera, games and printing.
For gaming PCs we also configure the graphics control panel and the monitor's refresh rate — it's surprisingly common for owners of 144 Hz monitors to run them at 60 Hz for years.
Specialist equipment
We also handle hardware whose drivers are hardest to find: cash registers and fiscal printers, barcode scanners, label printers, graphics tablets, studio audio interfaces, and industrial or medical devices. If there is no official support for a newer Windows version, we set up compatibility mode or find a proven alternative so you don't have to replace expensive equipment.
